Old School 1965 Canine Handler

military veteran and k9 partner

This past Tuesday, March 29th, the USA proudly honored Veterans who served their country in the Vietnam War. In addition to the millions of soldiers downrange, there were approximately 5,000 dogs deployed during the war to help detect hidden landmines and other unknown threats.

A few years ago Austin Maclin, a Vietnam Veteran, sent us this awesome original photo taken of him and his working dog, Sam, during the Vietnam War in 1965. He also thanked us for manufacturing the gear used by countless military working dogs today, making it possible for dogs to parachute and fast-rope into otherwise unreachable terrain.

Military dog programs have been positively shaped by amazing teams like Austin and Sam.  Thank you for your service and kind words. We are grateful.https://k9storm.com/blog/strongold-school-1965-canine-handlerstrong
